      • This tactic was created in order to have a quieter kill in Tanzania in 2012

  • Tactics
    - 25% of the tusk is under skin and within the elephants face. To remove tusk from an elephant, poachers cut off the elephant's face (using a chainsaw or axe), including trunk, tusks, mouth, and eyes.

  • most ivory sold is sold illegally and is worth more than gold now
  • 1 tusk = $6,000 on the black market (need source)
  • 1 tusk = $2,100 in China
